CANsail 1 & 2 program at the BYC

CANsail 1+2 is a program designed for beginner sailors. The course is available in 2 week or 4 week programs. Students will sail our Squadron 13’s learning all the basics from rigging you boat, steering, sail handling and more. Tailored for beginner sailors 10-17.

Deadlines and Cancellations
Your registration will be confirmed upon reception of full payment of fees and a completed registration form. After May 25^th, 2026, refunds will be subject to an administration fee of 200$. There are no refunds after June 22nd. There are no partial refunds if your child drops out or is absent for part of a session.

BYC is happy to announce the expansion of our very popular WETFEET/OPTI program. With an addition of Optimist boats to our fleet BYC is now able to offer CanSail1+2 programs in Opti’s as well as the possibility of an introduction to racing element if experience allows. This new program is open to youth age 8-13 years of age who have completed a WETFEET or CANSAIL program. One student per boat. Due to Optimist Class Rules a maximum weight limit of 125lbs. is imposed for this program.
