The Sailing School at the BYC
Our sailing school is the doorway into a lifetime of sailing and so much more! Nationally certified instructors. National program. Our non-profit Club offers an inexpensive wonderful learn to sail program for kids and adults with an adventurous spirit. As well as learning to sail you will make lifelong friendships and develop life skills for the future, all while doing one of the coolest sports. We provide the lake, the boats, the instructors and the location you bring the fun. Consult our different programs and register to learn at one of the best sailing training schools in the greater Montreal area.

Deadlines and Cancellations
Your registration will be confirmed upon reception of full payment of fees and a completed registration form. After May 25th, 2026, refunds will be subject to an administration fee of 200$. There are no refunds after June 22nd. There are no partial refunds if your child drops out or is absent for part of a session.

What to send with each student
To ensure your sailor has a safe and comfortable experience sailing a certain amount of equipment and preparation is needed. All students must bring the following items: Appropriately sized, Canadian approved, lifejacket. Clothes for the forecast weather (jacket, rainwear if needed) A change of dry clothes (just in case) Swimsuit, towel, hat sunscreen, sunglasses. Proper footwear (closed toe shoes that may get wet) For safety reasons flip flops are not allowed. Water bottle.

Sailor Code of Conduct
The Beaconsfield Yacht club is committed to providing the best possible training programs. In return, the membership and executive of BYC expects a commitment from all participating students. Each student is expected to treat Club equipment and property with care, as if it was his or her own, and to always exhibit appropriate behavior. BYC reserves the right to refuse registration to students whose involvement would cause a disruption to the course and interfere with the instruction of other students. For safety reasons the students are not to leave the Club’s premises. Students risk being expelled (without refund) if they refuse to follow this specific rule.
